Participants work on floor
mats under the verbal guidance of the teacher.
Using a series of gentle
motions, carefully crafted to tune the way that
we are using our bodies, the method helps us to
gain flexibility, better posture and clearer self
image. It brings
back a range of movements and nuances that were
lost over time, (or maybe with lifestyle), along
with developing the capability to use them
efficiently with comfort and grace.
When
you come to the class, please bring loose
clothes, a pinch of curiosity and a drop of
adventurous spirit.
In Feldenkrais classes,
there is no need to apply force. Removing the
necessity for physical strain enables the
participant to turn inwards, concentrating his
attention on the sensation of his movements.
This helps the student to
let go of redundant effort. The result is a
feeling of vitality lightness and ease: relieving
pressure from the skeletal system and tension
from muscles brings considerable relief from back
and joint pains.
