How does it work?

Breaking the vicious circle

Stresses and strain are stored in the muscles and held as pattern in the brain, and this in turn creates bad posture and bad movement – making more stress and strain. It’s a vicious circle. The Feldenkrais Method breaks this circle, allowing the brain to learn new patterns and release the tension in the muscles.

The Feldenkrais Method achieves this by creating a supportive environment for exploration. By using a series of gentle movements, derived from neurological principles, the Method addresses the very way that the human brain manages to learn, to change, to adapt and to adjust.
