About me
I was born in Israel and
lived there until a few years ago when I moved to
the UK. I first came across the Feldenkrais
method while studying at the Jerusalem Dance
Academy. It not only set me free of a severe foot
pain from which I had suffered since I was a
young girl, but also became my most effective
tool for understanding movement as a dancer and
choreographer. I found the Feldenkrais method the
most effective, friendly and progressive
discipline for enhancing and recovering human
potential; addressed to any person, in any
condition and any walk of life.
In 1985, I began my studies
in a course given to train Feldenkrais
practitioners, and was impressed by the ability
of the method to relate deeply to many areas of
life. In 1988 I became qualified in the method.
But for me that was just the beginning. As the
Feldenkrais discipline is a deep and never-ending
learning process, I continued my studies to an
advanced level. I went through the hundreds of
lessons that Dr. Feldenkrais created; acquired
knowledge in interconnecting areas and never
stopped reading and deepening my knowledge. My
main teachers were, and still are, my hundreds of
students from all walks of life and of all ages.
While in Israel I was
working for the Israeli National Health Service,
alongside running a busy private clinic giving
group classes and individual lessons to adults,
children and babies. I have been teaching at
Rimon, the leading Jazz school in
Israel, and was invited to lecture doctors,
school teachers and the general public on the
application of the Feldenkrais method. I have
contributed articles to various magazines dealing
with parentcraft and the development of children.
In 2002 I
moved to London and I quickly established groups
in Primrose Hill, Golders Green, Clapham and
Buckingham Gate, and gave individual lessons to
people ranging in age from 13 months to 92 years
old. Since August of 2007 I have been a member of
the Feldenkrais Guild UK, and I am now opening my
private practice in Temple Fortune.
